Our Mission.

The Cricket Center’s main objective is to reduce trauma to child victims by bringing all necessary local agencies together. The multidisciplinary team is made up of law enforcement officers, child protective service personnel, prosecutors, lawyers, advocates, mental health therapists and medical personnel. The multidisciplinary team meets regularly to communicate and collaborate on child abuse cases. Cases are reviewed beginning with the victim’s initial outcry through investigation, treatment and prosecution.

Josiah was born on April 26, 2016 and was trained by Canine Companions. Josiah’s puppy raiser was Caroline Husband, University of Delaware. He was matched with handler Wendy Myers in May, 2018. He began his career at The CRICKET Center, Worcester County child advocacy center, on May 18, 2018.
Josiah supports children who have experienced trauma by accompanying them at The CRICKET Center during forensic interviews, trauma therapy sessions or visits with the investigative team. Josiah also provides support to children during visits with prosecutors and during court proceedings.
